KISHTWAR, Feb 12: Police here today arrested a narcotics smuggler and recovered contraband from his possession.
In this regard, SSP Kishtwar, Javaid Iqbal Mir said that acting on credible information regarding the sale and purchase of narcotics, Kishtwar Police registered an FIR with number 42/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act against Abdul Ghani, son of Gh. Rasool Ganai, resident of Ganai Mohalla, Kucchal, tehsil Mughal Maidan, presently residing at the house of Reyaz Ahmed in Kandoo Mohalla, Kishtwar.
A Special Investigation Team was constituted in this regard which was led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Inspector Firdous Ahmed and was assisted by PSI Nishant Salgotra along with dedicated cops.
Under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs, Dr. Ishan Gupta, the team raided suspect’s location in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and recovered 11 grams of heroin like substance from the accused.
SSP Kishtwar has issued stern warning to drug syndicates urging them to abandon their illegal activities or face strict legal consequences.
