JAMMU, Dec 26: Shiv Mandir Charitable (SMC) Trust, Shiv Market (opposite Railway Station, Jammu), today donated six wheelchairs for specially disabled passengers to Uchit Singhal, ADRM, Railway Jammu.
The wheelchairs were formally handed over in the presence of Arun Gupta, president, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with his team, Shiv Partap (president, Shiv Mandir Charitable Trust), trustees of the Trust and senior members of Shiv Market.
Addressing the gathering, Uchit Singhal said that such initiatives play an important role in making railway services more accessible and inclusive for specially-abled passengers. He said that the availability of wheelchairs at railway stations significantly eases mobility challenges for passengers with disabilities, senior citizens and those with medical needs, thereby enhancing their travel experience and dignity.
Shiv Mandir Charitable Trust highlighted that the initiative reflects its continued commitment to social responsibility and community welfare. The Trust also acknowledged the active participation and support of Arun Gupta, his team, and members of Shiv Market, stating that collective efforts of trade bodies and social organizations are essential in addressing public needs and strengthening humanitarian outreach.
