Sluggish July for J&K Auto Dealers: FADA

JAMMU, Aug 8: In J&K for July 2025, the 2-Wheeler category witnessed a downfall of -3.34% at 10,888 units in July 2025, as compared to 11,264 units in July 2024.
The 3-Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 2.26% at 1,210 units in July 2025, as compared to 1,181 units in July 2024.
The Commercial Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -22.89% at 714 units in July 2025, as compared to 926 units in July 2024.
The Construction Equipment category witnessed a major downfall of -48.89 % at 23 units in July 2025, as compared to 45 units in July 2024.
The Passenger Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -13.09% at 4,735 units in July 2025, as compared to 5,448 units in July 2024.
The Tractor Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -3.31% at 350 units in July 2025, as compared to 362 units in July 2024.
In J&K total retail is 17,920 in July 2025 as compared to 19,226 in July 2024 thereby registering a downfall of -6.79% YoY.
The information in this regard was provided by Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairperson, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).
He said that in the UT of J&K, the month of July 2025 witnesses a degrowth in almost all the categories like 2 wheeler, commercial vehicle, construction equipment, passenger vehicle and tractor.
“The only category which witnessed a slight growth of 2.46% % is 3 wheeler categories. Overall July 2025 in J&K witnessed the degrowth of 6.79% YoY which is a cause of concern,” he said.
Aggarwal said, “The onset of the festive season beginning in the coming months is expected to bring positive momentum. Dealers across J&K are gearing up with fresh inventory and promotional offers, particularly in anticipation of better footfalls during Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, Independence Day and the lead-up to Navratri and Diwali.”
