JAMMU, Oct 29: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjeet Singh Slathia today inaugurated several development works worth Rs.72.64 lakh in various areas of village Palouta in Ramgarh town.
The works included construction of lanes and drains in various adjoining areas of Palouta besides link roads from Palouta to Shamshan Ghat and from Palouta to Kamore.
Later, the Minister convened a public meeting at Palouta and listened to the demands and problems of the people. He asked the officers to look into all the issues of the people and take necessary action for their early redressal.
The Minister highlighted the achievements of the Government besides elucidating various welfare and development programmes launched to empower the under privileged sections of the society socially, economically and politically as well. He said that the success of present dispensation in implementing the development schemes effectively reflects the firm faith of the people in the Coalition Government. He appealed the people to continue their support to the Government so the development profile of the State could be further moved towards new highs.
Slathia directed the officers to create massive awareness about the schemes of their respective departments among the people especially those living in far off parts so that the benefit of these development programmes could reach to the people at ground level. He also instructed them to conduct regular visit of their respective jurisdictions for effective implementation of Government schemes.
