VIJAYPUR, Sept 23: In the wake of continued shelling from across the border in Ramgarh sector of Vijaypur constituency along International Border, former minister and senior State vice president National Conference today expressed dismay over the lackadaisical approach of the PDP-BJP Government in reaching out to the people in distress.
Slathia extensively visited Kesso, Rangoor, Kandral and Mahal Shah villages of the Ramgarh sector and took stock of  damages caused to residential houses, livestock and standing crops. He interacted with the affected border dwellers and said they were not along at this hour of crisis.
The NC leader particularly assailed the BJP for total neglect of the sufferers, saying this is hugely reflected in the nonchalant approach of the administration that is suffering from total inertia due to lack of political direction. He lamented that even as the border residents were grappling with the adverse situation unfolded by continuous shelling and firing, the Government was doing practically nothing in minimizing their sufferings.
The former minister reiterated his demand of providing safe shelter sheds in the vulnerable areas, as border skirmishes have unfortunately become a routine, leaving people run helter-skelter for safety. He sought immediate relocation of  civilians from the forward areas to safer lodging Centres with all basic amenities. He stressed the need for ensuring boarding and lodging facilities with adequate arrangements of boarding and lodging besides medicare.
“The administration should shoulder its responsibility towards people in distress as the ruling dispensation has almost abandoned them”, he said and expressed solidarity with the affected population.
