SKUAST-Jammu launches NCC Air Wing

JAMMU, June 23: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology- Jammu (SKUAST-J) has established its NCC Air Wing under the 01 J&K Air NCC Unit.
As per a statement, the unit is headed by Wing Commander Nitin Yadav and functions under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Dr B N Tripathi and Dean Students Welfare Dr Sudhakar Dwivedi.
Since its formation, the wing has seen active participation from cadets in various national-level camps and adventure programmes.
Cadet Siya Kotwal created history by becoming the first SKUAST-Jammu cadet to go airborne.
Three Senior Wing cadets were selected for the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) in Srinagar, while nine Senior Division cadets took part in a trekking expedition in Dharamshala.
The unit is being mentored by Caretaker Officers Dr Susheel Sharma and Dr Sabahat Gazal.
The NCC Air Wing has added a new avenue for leadership, discipline, and national service among students of the university.
