SKUAST-J organizes awareness prog on Climate Change

SAMBA, Nov 5: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu, conducted “Farmers Awareness Programme on Climate Change” at Mahl Shah, Ramgarh, in which farmers from nearby villages participated.
The awareness camp was organised by All India Coordinated Research Project on Agrometeorology under AICRPAM-NICRA project in order to make awareness, among the farmers of border area of district Samba, about climate change and its impact on agriculture and its allied field.
Dr Sanjay Koushal presented the welcome address and briefed about the programme.
Dr MK Khushu, Chief Scientist and Head, Agrometeorology, stressed upon to adapt various agricultural practices which could be able to mitigate climate change.
Among other scientists namely Dr MK Pandey, Junior Scientist, Division of Plant Breeding, Dr Vivak Manohar Arya, Asstt Prof, Division of Soil Science, Kuldeep Srivastava, Asstt Prof, Division of Entomology, Dr BR Bazaya, Assistant Professor, Agronomy, Vikas Gupta, Junior Scientist, Agronomy and Dr Charu Sharma, SRF also spoke on the occasion.
