JAMMU, Jan 30: Sampooran Kashmir Sangthan (SKS) today demanded immediate withdrawal of FIR registered by State Government against the army in Shopian district firing case.
In a statement issued here, today the president of SKS, Rakesh Kaul said that Government should also apologize for initiating action against the duty bound army personnel who are serving the nation and fighting a proxy war in Kashmir.
Expressing total solidarity with Army, Kaul said entire nation is solidly behind the brave and valiant Indian Army and they will never tolerate any action against the armed forces to appease the separatists and anti national elements in Kashmir.
He said SKS resolutely stands behind Indian Army and Major Aditya who is a daring and brave Army Officer. He said that SKS will not allow any body to let the Indian Armed Forces down.
The statement said that on January 27 an army convoy at Ganaupura in Shopian came under unprovoked and intense stone pelting by a mob of 250 plus stone pelters. Traitors caused extensive damage to army vehicles and tried to set them on fire. A Junior Commissioned Officer in the convoy got hit on the head and fell unconscious suffering serious injury. The mob tried to lynch the individual and snatch his weapon, he added.
He said stone pelters attempted to set vehicles on fire. Extreme gravity forced the army to open fire in self defence to prevent lynching of the JCO and burning of Government vehicle by the mob. Seven army men suffered injuries and extensive damage caused to eleven vehicles. In the process two civilians succumbed to the bullet injuries and said there is no fault on the part of Army.
He said it is unfortunate that State Government has lodged FIR naming Major Aditya of 10 Garhwal Rifles for murder under Section 320. It is unfortunate that the Kashmiri politicians consider stone pelters as innocent civilians and termed the Government action aimed at demoralizing the Indian Army.
