SRINAGAR, Dec 15: The Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, has announced winter vacation schedules for its faculty members, to be observed in two halves starting January 1, 2025.
According to the directives issued in this regard, the first half of the winter vacation will be from January 1, 2025, to January 28, 2025, while the second half will be from February 1, 2025, to February 28, 2025.
“All Heads of Departments are requested to furnish the names of faculty members who wish to avail themselves of the first or second half of the vacation,” the directives state.
It has been emphasized that 50% of the faculty staff must remain available in the department during each half of the vacation.
Furthermore, Heads of Departments are required to ensure that, wherever possible, at least one senior faculty member is present in the department during each half.
“No changes will be entertained after the roster is submitted by the respective Heads of Departments,” the directives add.
It has been also noted that the administration reserves the right to recall any faculty member during the vacation in case of emergencies.
Additionally, it has been reiterated that the vacation roster of faculty members will not be accepted unless their residential addresses and contact numbers are provided.
The directives also stress that the roster must clearly indicate whether station-leaving permission is required.
“Faculty members on duty will not be permitted to take leave for conferences, seminars, or workshops requiring station permission during the vacation period.”
The deadline for the submission of the vacation roster has been set December 20, 2024.
