JAMMU, Feb 5: Post-Graduate Department of Dogri, University of Jammu organized skill development workshop in collaboration with Radio Kashmir, Jammu today
Rakesh Sattu, Incharge Yuva Tarang and Ravi Kant were the resource persons from Radio Kashmir, Jammu. Prof. Archana Kesar, former Dean Research Studies presided over the inaugural function of the workshop.
In her welcome address, Prof. Parmeshwari Sharma, HOD Dogri highlighted the importance and relevance of the workshop.
Prof. Archana Kesar while speaking on the occasion, lauded the role of Radio Kashmir Jammu for organizing such workshops to promote the talent of students and scholars.
Ravi Kant, resource persons from Radio Kashmir, Jammu presented key note address and deliberated on the importance of this workshop. He also shared his experience of using the proper words of Dogri language which are no longer in use but which have great relevance in Dogra culture.
In all, twenty two students spoke on the topics-”Beti Bachao Beti Padao”, “Ki bada diye Buzurge Di Tadad Vrid Ashram Chi” and “Ki Naujawan door hovade na Krishi Khetra Chi”. Almost all the participants who recorded their voice while speaking on these topics were selected by the Radio.
Another resource person Rakesh Sattu while speaking on the occssion, expressed his happiness to see the talent of students and scholars of department and also assured the department for organizing more such workshops in future also.
Earlier three students namely Vijay Laxmi, Poonam and Sunita presented few Dogri songs in their melodious voice.
Dr. Sushma Sharma presented vote of thanks whereas Rahul Manhas from Radio and Shakti Rani from Dogri Deptt. conducted the proceedings of the programme in a befitting manner. Dr. Padam Dev Singh, Dr. Sandeep Dubey of Dogri Deptt. and Rishav from Radio also assisted the proceedings of the workshop.
About 60 students and scholars participated in the workshop.
