JAMMU, Oct 26: With six more people today testing positive for Dengue virus the total number of patients affected with this vector-borne disease in Jammu region has reached to 108.
According Dr BS Pathania, Director, Health Services Jammu, a total of 72 tests were conducted today for Dengue out of which six turned out to be positive. He said that all the six infected persons are adults (5 males and 1 female).
Giving more details, Dr Pathania, said that out of six Dengue infected persons three belong to Jammu district, two to Kathua and one belongs to Udhampur district.
He further disclosed that till today the department conducted 652 tests for Dengue out of which 108 were found to be positive for Dengue virus.
Dr Pathania advised the people not to store water in open utensils and allow stagnation of water in their surroundings, as stagnant water is a breeding ground for Dengue mosquitoes. He also advised the people to prevent themselves from mosquito bites.
