Six power-lifters of J&K to represent India

JAMMU, May 16: The outstanding performance of the State Team in Senior National Championship which was held at Pune in Maharashtra earlier has helped six power-lifters of the State including 4 females and 2 males to seal berth in Indian team and represent the Country in the upcoming Senior World Bench-Press Championship to be held at Tokyo in Japan from May 18 to May 25, 2019.
The lifters selected include Radha Kumari-47 kg, Monika Sharma -63 kg, Juhi Gupta -84 kg, Upasana Mahajan -84 kg in female section and Bimal Indu Sharma -93 kg and Sajjad Hussain -83 kg in male category. Ravi Singh-Divisional Sports Officer of J&K State Sports Council, Jammu, Satish Gupta-Manager, Indoor Sports Complex, Jammu and Ajay Sharma-General Secretary of All J&K State Powerlifting Association appreciated the achievement of the players and wished them good luck. The selected team left for Japan today to participate in the Senior World Bench Press Championship.
