JAMMU, Apr 6: Six Commissions constituted under various Acts are presently without Chairmen and Members in Jammu and Kashmir.
This information was provided by Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who is also holding the portfolio of General Administration Department in response to the question of BJP MLA from Jammu West, Sat Paul Sharma in the Lower House.
As far as Public Service Commission is concerned, the posts of Chairman and Members are lying vacant. Similarly, all the posts in State Accountability Commission, Human Rights Commission and State Commission for Women are presently vacant.
However, J&K State Electricity Regulatory Commission has its Chairman but posts of two members are lying vacant. The State Commission for Backward Classes has four members but the post of Chairman is vacant.
The Chief Minister claimed that Government was committed to revive all these institutions and provide them adequate administrative support and manpower for achieving the desired results as per the Constitution and Statutory Acts under which these Commissioners were constituted.
He disclosed that eight complaints against politicians are pending for disposal in Accountability Commission while as 923 complaints against bureaucrats and Government employees are pending for disposal with Vigilance Commission.
