JAMMU, Jan 5: Six individuals were arrested for gambling in RS Pura area here today.
Acting on specific tip off, a team of RS Pura Police Station led by SHO concerned, Ravi Singh Parihar, raided a suspected location and apprehended six individuals indulged in gambling activities, a police official said.
According to him, a stake money of Rs 5960 and playing cards were also recovered from the possession of the gamblers, later identified as Kamaljeet Singh, Suresh Singh, Amandeep, Surjeet Kumar, Sunny Kumar and Balvinder Kumar, all residents of Chohala, RS Pura.
He said all the accused individuals have been booked under section 13 of the Gambling Act and further investigation has been taken up.
