JAMMU, Sept 6: Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to look into the mysterious death of an engineering student of Amity University namely Meesam Ali Shah, son of Kabir Hussain Shah of Bathindi, who had been brought dead at ASCOMS, Sidhra Jammu on November 9, 2014, today filed a status report in the State High Court.
The status report has been filed in response to a writ petition filed by Kabir Hussain Shah, father of deceased seeking expeditious completion of the inquest proceedings entrusted to the Special Investigation Team headed by SP North Jammu.
In the status report, it has been submitted that death of the deceased has occurred due to the combined effect of Diacetyle Morphine (heroin) and Aluminum Phosphide poison. “In the light of the medical/FSL report as well as statement of witnesses recorded during the course of inquest proceedings, the death of Meesam Ali Shah has been found to be not natural and he had died due to the combined effect of Diacetyle Morphine (Heroin) and Aluminum Phosphide poison as such the same is required to be dealt under law”, the report said.
“The inquest proceedings are closed for registration of formal case and the case diaries are forwarded to SHO Police Station Bakshi Nagar with the direction to register formal case”, the report further said.
It is pertinent to mention here that on the intervening night of November 8 and 9 Meesam Ali Shah came from Bathindi to Subash Nagar Jammu in the house of his friend namely Anurag Gupta, son of Sunil Kumar Gupta where common friend Tanveer Ahmed, son of Mohd Sajjad Malik of Poonch was also present.
On November 9, 2014 Meesam Ali Shah went to his house and at about 0630 hours in the morning, he came back to his friend’s house at Subash Nagar and slept there. At about 1300 hours, Meesam Ali Shah started vomiting and his friends namely Anurag Gupta and Tanvir Ahmed shifted him to Batra Hospital Sidhra for treatment where he was declared as brought dead by the concerned doctors.
