Simple Energy launches Gen 2 scooters, unveils 400 km range Simple Ultra

BENGALURU, Jan 5: Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer Simple Energy on Monday launched its Gen 2 scooters, including the Simple One and Simple OneS, alongside India’s first 400 km IDC range electric scooter, the Simple Ultra.
With this, the company expands its product portfolio to four distinct scooters, each designed for enhanced range, performance, and rider comfort.
Simple Ultra, powered by a 6.5 kWh battery-the largest ever fitted on an Indian electric scooter-offers a top speed of 115 kmph and accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 2.77 seconds. The scooter sets a new benchmark in the country with an IDC-certified range of 400 km, making it India’s longest-range and second fastest electric scooter.
The Simple One Gen 2 is now available in two battery variants. The 4.5 kWh variant delivers a 236 km IDC range at a starting price of INR 1,69,999, while the 5 kWh variant offers 265 km at INR 1,77,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
The updated scooter features a refreshed design, lighter kerb weight of 129 kg, underseat storage of 35 litres, and advanced features such as traction control, cruise control, and four-level regenerative braking. The Simple OneS Gen 2, priced at INR 1,49,999, now has an improved IDC range of 190 km, reduced kerb weight of 118 kg, and upgraded braking performance.
All models support home charging via a portable 750W charger and come with an industry-leading 8-year motor warranty, along with a 3-year vehicle and charger warranty. The scooters offer connected features including GPS, 5G e-SIM, LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, and over-the-air updates, ensuring a modern, tech-enabled riding experience.
Suhas Rajkumar, Founder & CEO of Simple Energy, said, “Our Gen 2 portfolio reflects a deliberate, innovation-first approach-offering differentiated products across range and performance needs, all built for real-world reliability. With the launch of Simple Ultra, we are delivering confidence, freedom, and truly anxiety-free electric mobility.”
The scooters are available across 61 showrooms in Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Vizag, Kochi, Jaipur, Mangalore, and additional cities, as well as online via Amazon and Flipkart. Simple Energy plans to expand to 150 dealerships and 200 service centers by March 2026, and is targeting an IPO in Q2-Q3 FY27, aiming to raise approximately USD 350 million.
Simple Energy, founded in 2019 by Suhas Rajkumar and co-founders Shreshth Mishra and Ankit Gupta, is India’s pioneer in long-range electric two-wheelers, producing smart, high-performance scooters with fully in-house developed powertrains and the country’s first heavy rare-earth-free motors.
