JAMMU, July 10: A man and his sister were arrested with heroin worth Rs 70 lakh in Miran Sahib area, here today.

During routine checking, a scooty was intercepted at Balol naka area in Miran Sahib, a police official said.
On search of the scooty rider and its pillion rider, identified as Gurjeet Singh of Tanda, RS Pura, and his sister, Navneet Kour, approximately 550 grams of heroin worth Rs 70 lakh was recovered, he said.
While the scooty has been seized, the accused siblings have been arrested and booked in case FIR number 91/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/29/60 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Miran Sahib.
“Currently, both the siblings are being interrogated to get further leads on the supply chain and distribution network of the contraband,” the police official said.
Besides, a financial investigation has also been initiated to trace the proceeds of the illegal narcotic trade and take appropriate legal action, he said.
According to the police official, the mother of the accused siblings, Rajinder Kour had already been arrested by the Punjab Police in the month of June this year in a drug peddling case registered at Police Station Shiata.
Pertinently, the entire operation was led by SHO Miran Sahib, Inspector Jai Paul Sharma and PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu.
