JAMMU, Aug 3: A Sub Inspector has been attached after a drug peddler escaped from the police custody.
As per police sources, Mohammad Shafi, son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident DH Pora Srinagar managed to escape from the make shift lock up of the Police Post Manwal, yesterday.
He was arrested in a case registered under FIR Number 72/18 under NDPS Act at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station.
A fresh case under FIR Number 74/18 under Section 225 RPC has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
When contacted, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma told the EXCELSIOR that Incharge Police Post SI Suresh Sharma has been attached to District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu as his negligence came to fore in the enquiry conducted by SDPO Nagrota Yashbir Slathia.
“SI Kunal Singh Chib has been transferred from DPL Jammu and posted as Incharge Manwal Police Post”, he informed.
He added that hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
