Hundreds of people including traders and civil society members assembled in the main Town and staged anti-PDD protest. They were raising slogans against PDD officials and State Government. The shutdown was called by local Civil Society and Traders Federation of Tral.
President of Tral Civil Society, Bashir Ahmad told reporters that they won’t allow the installation of meters in their area and would resist the move “tooth and nail”. “Today’s shutdown is against the PDD’s move of installing HT meters and insulated wires. We warn them if they went ahead with their move then we will smash these meters,” he said.
