JAMMU, Apr 28: Alertness of the officials of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) today led to detection of fake emails and messages being circulated by certain cheat on the name of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to secure priority helicopter tickets and darshan of the holy cave shrine.
Soon after the Shrine Board detected that emails and messages coming from the office of the External Affairs Ministry for priority tickets and darshan were not in official format, CEO Shrine Board Ajeet Sahu approached office of the Union Minister, which denied have issued any such messages.
Immediately thereafter, the Shrine Board on behalf of the CEO has lodged a written complaint of forgery and cheating with Katra police station and supplied them with fake email IDs and messages sent by the racketeers for carrying out detailed investigations in the case and arresting the persons involved in committing fraud with the Shrine Board to secure priority helicopter tickets and darshan.
Sources said the CEO found that the letter mailed to the Board’s officer carried private email address instead of official address of the Ministry. The CEO approached the concern Ministry officials for verifications, who conveyed that no such letters had been issued from the Ministry.
A FIR has been registered by Katra police station for further investigations.
