SAMBA, Feb 27: A delegation of Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha J&K headed by  Narayan Singh its president along with residents of Gurah Salathia, met the Deputy Commissioner, Samba and presented a memorandum  of demands with regard to unfortunate killing of  Kultar Singh S/o  Jeevan Singh R/o Mandi Gurah Slathia.
The president of the Sabha was accompanied with Capt. (retd) Inder Singh Sambyal, district president of the Sabha.
The memorandum demanded enquiry to be initiated in the attack on Kultar Singh and the norms fixed for the protection of shrines and religious places.
The State as well as Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha has lost one of its valiant soldiers of Armed Police Kultar Singh while guarding the shrine at Charar-e-Sharif,  Srinagar. He attained martyrdom at the hands of militants. The death of the solider apparently caused due to non-deployment of sufficient strength of staff there, which is sheer negligence on the part of the Commandant of the Battalion. Had there been other staff, the militants could have been encountered then and there. Rajput Sabha demanded that drastic action be taken against that officer responsible for this happening.
It also demanded a detailed enquiry in this case to find out the basic truth as to how all this has happened.
The memorandum said that it has been noticed that Kultar Singh had been transferred and posted somewhere in the Department but not relieved by the concerned officer. Reasons for non-relieving of the Constable be ascertained and the officer concerned be held responsible for this lapse.
Moreover it wanted to know why the martyr was alone deployed at shrine when the authorities knew that the threat of terrorists’ attack looms large in the Valley.
