SRINAGAR, June 17: Committee for Fixation of Fee Structure of Private Educational Institutions today issued a show cause notice against Minto Circle High School here after it received a complaint against the school for charging Rs 300 per month per student as CBSE charges for the last three years.
According to a statement issued here, the Committee said the notice was issued to the said school Management.
“The Management appeared and admitted that the School Management is charging Rs 300 per month per student for the last three years as CBSE charges while as the School is not affiliated to CBSE at all. Whereas this act of the School Management clearly amounts to cheating and causing wrongful gain to itself and wrongful loss to the students,” said the statement.
Whereas charging CBSE fee without being affiliated with CBSE amounts to a panel offence besides, being highly objectionable and against rules, it said. The school management has been directed to show cause by 20.06.2016 as to why a criminal case may not be registered against the School and that why the Director School Education may not be informed about it and asked to initiate a process of de-recognition of the School for such cheating and violation of rules.
“The reply of the School shall reach this Committee by or before 20.06.2016 failing which it will be presumed that the School Management has nothing to say in the matter and appropriate action in terms of law and rules will follow,” said Nazir-ul-Hussain Shah, the In-charge Administrative officer of Committee for Fixation of Fee Structure of Private Educational Institutions.
