UDHAMPUR, June 1: Udhampur shopkeepers today demanded relief package because of Covid and also speeding up of the Central Drainage Sewage Project work that is going on in Udhampur town.
For highlighting both the issues, local shopkeepers held a meeting under the presidium of Anil Pachyala, Gopal Pachyala, Ram Rattan Dutt, Sham Padha and Adarsh Magotra. During the meeting, shopkeepers showed their resentment over slow pace of the sewage work, which is causing dirt and sludge all over the town and main roads.
Sludge and dirt are creating extreme problem for the shopkeepers and the pedestrians as it becomes difficult even to walk, they said and appealed the District administration Udhampur to order early completion of the work in a proper way.
“Ongoing work of Central Drainage at Court Road, Bus Stand, Lambi Gali and Arya Samaj Gali must be completed first in a proper way besides properly filling up the hollow space and blacktopping the same,” they added.
The shopkeepers also appealed the District Administration Udhampur to include all the leftover shops in the Roster for opening as soon as possible. They also demanded interest relaxation on the bank loan limit to transporters and shopkeepers, who are already suffering heavy loss for the last one year because of Covid.
