JAMMU, Aug 16: Bus stand police arrested a shopkeeper for kidnapping and molesting a woman after promising her job.
As per police sources, a woman hailing from district Doda came to Jammu in search of job.
At Bus-stand Jammu, the woman came in contact with a shopkeeper Ram Singh, son of Kashmira Singh of Janipur Colony, who promised her to provide job.
The shopkeeper took the woman to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi with criminal motive to rape her, but failed. Later, he took the woman to Bagh-e-Bahu area and molested her.
The woman reported the matter to police station Bus Stand that the shopkeeper kidnapped and molested her after promising her job.
Accordingly a case under FIR number 37/15 under Section 366 and 354 RPC was registered and investigation started.
Acting on the complaint, police team from Bus stand police station nabbed the shopkeeper.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bus stand police station Inspector Paramjit Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Perbeet Singh Parihar, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
