Shiv Sena protests against hike in LPG prices

JAMMU, Aug 19: J&K unit of Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray here today staged a protest demonstration against hike in LPG prices.
The protest was led by J&K Shiv Sena president, Manish Sahni who said that price of LPG has increased seven times in the last seven months and for the second straight month by Rs 25.
He also said that in J&K, price of LPG cylinder has crossed Rs. 900.
“LPG prices have more than doubled in seven years of Modi regime,” the Shiv Sena leader said castigating the BJP government for having failed to control inflation.
He said that petrol and diesel prices are at all-time high and LPG prices have doubled to what these used to be before 2014 while the prices of vegetables, fruits, edible oils, pulses, eggs and other essentials are out of the reach of the common man.
Sahni demanded that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi should immediately withdraw the hike in the price of LPG and provide relief to the general public.
Shiv Sena Women Wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; chairman, Rakesh Gupta; vice president, Sanjeev Kohli, Vikas Diwan, Baldev Singh; president Kamgar Wing, Raj Singh; vice president, Sanjeev Sudan; youth president, Binny Mahajan, Balbir Singh, Geeta Lakhotra, Meena Devi, Tarsem, Surjit and others were also present in the protest.
