JAMMU, Aug 4: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has demanded restoration of full Statehood to J&K with special privileges under Article 371.
In a press conference here today J&K Shiv Sena president, Manish Sahni said on the call of the people, a written request has been sent to his party high command sent to raise the demand for full Statehood restoration to J&K during the upcoming meeting of India Alliance in New Delhi.
Sahni said that J&K is the first State in the country in which the State status was taken away and it was reorganized into two Union Territories.
He claimed that even after the abrogation of Article 370, terrorism continues and about 100 terrorist incidents have taken place in just 7 months and four days of the year 2025.
“Due to careless attitude of the Government, it seems that there is no one to look after the welfare of J&K people,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained adding: “Taking into account the call of the public, full Statehood should be restored to J&K on the lines of northeastern States with special privileges under Article 371.”
