JAMMU, Dec 7: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K has demanded deportation of Rohingyas illegally settled in J&K.
Addressing a press conference here today J&K Shiv Sena chief, Manish Sahni demanded a verification drive for the illegally settled Rohingyas.
“J&K is grappling with terrorism and is strategically sensitive region while a large number of Rohingyas have settled here posing a serious security threat,” he maintained, demanding investigation into the purpose behind the Rohingyas traveling thousands of kilometers to reach J&K.
The Shiv Sena leader claimed that involvement of Rohingyas has been surfaced in crimes ranging from petty thefts to smuggling, espionage, drug trafficking, and document tampering.
He further stated that there is no strict law in the country to expel the illegally settled Rohingyas and added that the Supreme Court has also reprimanded the central government in this regard few days back.
“Union government and the LG of J&K should issue strict instructions to expel the Rohingyas settled illegally in highly sensitive J&K,” Sahni continued.
