JAMMU, Sept 11: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray leaders of Jammu and Kashmir demanded stern action against the drug peddlers who should be booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).
While addressing the media personnel at the party office here, today , State president, Manish Sahni expressed concern over the growing drug addiction and drug peddlers.
Sahni urged the youth to stay away from drug abuse and other social evils, saying that the younger generation is destroying their future under the influence of drugs.
He also appealed for strict legal action against the drug peddlers and said that this has been curbed to a large extent due to the vigilance of the police administration.
Sahni recalled that in a recently released statement, the Jammu and Kashmir DGP had also advocated for booking the drug peddlers under the PSA, but none of the peddlers have been prosecuted yet. Sahni appealed to the NCB and the Police Department to take stern action against these drug mafias and their kingpins and book them under the PSA, who are playing with the future of our youth. Sahni appealed to every section of the society to cooperate with the youth and help them to get rid of intoxication. President Women Wing, Meenakshi Chhibber, Executive president, Ashwini Gupta, general secretary, Vikas Bakshi, secretary, Raj Singh were also present.
