JAMMU, Nov 16: The Shiv Mandir Sant Seva Ashram Charitable Trust, organised a distribution drive to provide essential items to students from several Government schools in the Akhnoor region.
As per a statement, around 370 students from six government schools-Government High School Kotgari, Government High School Gura Talab, Government High School Ambaran, Government Primary School Chandta Pind, Government Primary School Diggah, and Government Primary School Mohalla Massa-benefited from the initiative.
The items distributed included sweaters, shoes, socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, notebooks, and backpacks, all aimed at assisting the students in their education and daily lives.
Established on July 31, 1992, with the aim of supporting the underprivileged sections of society, the Shiv Mandir Sant Seva Ashram Charitable Trust has consistently worked towards fulfilling its mission through various charitable initiatives.
Over the years, the trust has organized numerous medical camps, provided financial assistance to the needy and handicapped, and distributed food through langars during major festivals like Shivratri and Janmashtami.
Additionally, the trust has supported pilgrims during the Amarnath Yatra by providing langars and free accommodation.
The distribution drive today commenced at 10:30 am from Government High School Kotgari.
Key members of the trust, including President Shiv Pratap, Senior Vice-President Rajinder Prashad, Vice-President Kuldeep Pangotra, General Secretary Vishwa Mitter, Treasurer Krishna Kutty, and Trustee Ashok Gupta, were present for the event.
Local educational officials, including the CEO, Deputy Chief Education Officer, and the Zonal Education Officer, also joined the occasion at the trust’s request.
