Shiv Khori shrine witnessing huge flow of devotees

REASI, Feb 14: With adequate facilities put in place Shiv Khori Cave Shrine in Reasi is witnessing huge inflow of devotees, ahead of Maha Shivratri festival.
Last year the shrine had attracted 5, 21,181 pilgrims and this year 42907 pilgrims have visited so far. The increase in number of devotees has been attributed to the efforts of District Administration and Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board which have made maximum possible facilities.
This fast emerging pilgrimage destination is expected to witness more influx of devotees during the three days historic Maha Shivratri Mela commencing from February 16, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Shiv Kumar Gupta.
Gupta added that Jhankis depicting various aspects of Lord Shiva, cultural programmes, devotional songs, dances and dangal will be the major attraction during the Mela.
“Aghar Jitto, Noaun Pandian, Baba Dhansar, Deera Baba Banda Bahudur and Shiv Khori are the holy shrines, which have been developed to attract maximum number of pilgrims towards the interior of the district” , he added.
District Employment and Counselling Centre, Reasi is also organizing three days employment fair at base camp Ransoo during the Mela to create awareness among the general masses, especially the unemployed youth of the district about various self-employment schemes launched by the Government.
