Shiv Khori Shrine Board

3-year term of five non-official members of the Shiv Khori Shrine Board expired in February 2014. So far new members have not been nominated. Under rules no decision or action on any plan or programme can be taken unless there is a quorum of at least five member of the Board present in the meeting. The result of delaying the selection of five non-official members has put a road block in the developmental works of Shiv Khori Shrine Board. Everything in the name of development has come to standstill. Helicopter service to Shiv Khori, already sanctioned on the pattern of helicopter service to Mata Vaishno Devi remains unimplemented despite the fact that helipad is ready for service. The reason given is that a culvert needs to be built so that transport from the helipad to the shrine is facilitated. But who will take a decision when the Board meetings have not taken place for last three months. The Board is eager to provide more facilities to the pilgrims to Shiv Khori shrine whose number is swelling with each passing year.
Concerned authorities have to realize that providing facilities to the pilgrims is a matter of priority.  They cannot just sleep over the matter and in a bid of whom to select and whom not to select, they cannot play hide and seek game with the pilgrims. A decision has to be taken without loss of time and the functioning of the Shrine Board which has been almost suspended has to resume.
