KATHUA, Dec 15: Even after long wait of over eight years, just 1.20 kms of road from Dadora to Shiv Guffa Mahanaal in Jakhol area of district Kathua is nowhere insight.
Members of the Shiva Guffa Committee, Mahanaal, Jakhol told ‘Excelsior’ that the then Dy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh had visited this shrine during first week of April 2016. The Committee and the local public demanded construction of a iink road up to this Shiv Guffa. On April 6, an application was submitted to the DyCM by the Shrine Committee.
It was learnt that on the instruction of the then DyCM a DPR was prepared by the PW(R&B) department Kathua worth Rs 2.18 crore for this nearly 1.20 kms road. The committee claimed to have approached Dr Nirmal Singh and several BJP leaders besides Executive Engineers R&B Kathua several times during past over more than eight years but no satisfactory reply was ever received from them. No body knows about the fate of that Detailed Project Repprt (DPR).
They said on Maha Shivratri thousands of devotees visit this Shiv Shrine in district Kathua. A temple and Bhawan have been constructed by the public there with their own donations but this facility of road is yet awaited from Government side. They alleged that the public and Shrine Committee is feeling befooled and ignored by the then people at the helm of affairs.
The Committee members of Mahanaal Shiv Guffa (Jakhol) have now appealed to the new Dy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary (Minister Incharge, R&B) to intervene personally into this urgent matter and provide this road upto Shiv Guffa in Jakhol within one year so that trust of the people/ devotees in the system could be restored.
