NEW DELHI, Sept 28:
Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde will embark on a three-day visit to Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir’s Ladakh region in the first week of October to take stock of the border security, an official said here today.
This will be the first border area visit of Mr Shinde after he took over as Union Home Minister around two months ago.
“The Home Minister will be visiting Amritsar, Kargil and Leh for three days beginning October 6,” the official added.
The visit comes at a time when Kashmir has been witnessing protests by rural local bodies representatives following the recent killing of two elected village heads in recent weeks. (UNI)
