JAMMU, Nov 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Higher Education Department, as the Nodal Officer (NO) in respect of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for coordinating with the National Task Force (NTF) to prevent student suicides in the Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).
“It is hereby ordered that Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Higher Education Department, shall be the Nodal Officer in respect of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for coordinating with the NTF regarding the issue of prevention of students suicides in HEIs and to oversee compliance and provide the requisite data, information, and assistance to the NTF, constituted by the Supreme Court of India in terms of judgment dated March 24, 2025 in Criminal Appeal number 1425/2025 [SLP] (Crl.) number 13324/2024],” read an order issued by the General Administration Department.
