On the occasion, Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest who inaugurated the show.
On the inaugural day, the Dogri film “Lakeer” was also screened.
During the show, the Department of Information will be presenting programmes like Dogri film shows, photo exhibition, cultural programmes, national painting camps (graphics), photo exhibition by photo journalists, departmental stalls, joy rides, societies stalls, home appliances, stalls by local traders besides healthcare products and children book fair. Nearly, 50 department and local stalls have been established on the first day of the show.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir is the cultural hub of the sub-continent because of its rich heritage, literature, architecture and folk art forms and this legacy needs to be protected and preserved.
While complimenting organization for their strong support to local folk, art and cultural, Sham congratulated them for their yeomen service to the cause of the architecture, folk art forms and heritage of the Jammu region and urged them to continue the good work being done by them.
The Minister also appreciated the efforts initiated by the Department of Information for organising such an innovative mega show providing a platform to local artists, departments, business houses and other professionals to exhibit their talent and art. Such programmes further add to state’s status and achievements and hoped that the department will carry forward this noble mission with the same spirit and enthusiasm.
Among others Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Madhu Khullar, Director Horticulture, J N Sharma, Director Floriculture, K K Sharma, Drug Controller, Satish Gupta, Joint Director Information, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma, Joint Director Horticulture (Marketing & Planning), Deputy Director Central, Dr Baldev Raj Sharma and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
