SRINAGAR, Jan 29: Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan today said that Rs. 75.49 crore have been estimated to cost the project of construction and repairs of health institutions of the Valley out of which Rs. 45.35 crore have been released to various construction agencies and the work is apace.
The Minister was addressing a review meeting of officers of Health Department here today.
Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education, M. K. Dwivedi, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman and senior officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that during last financial year 66,19,451 outdoor and 3,51,780 patients were provided medicare facilities by the Health Department besides 1603018 laboratory tests and 512078 ECG, USG and X-Ray were conducted.
The Minister stressed upon the officers to work with dedication so as to ensure proper health care facilities to the patients of the Valley. He also emphasized for providing all other facilities to the patients suffering from various ailments at State level hospitals as well as district and sub district hospitals. He directed for strengthening the Allopathic dispensaries in far flung and remote areas so as to ensure immediate health care facilities for the people living in remote areas of the State.
The Minister released the annual calendar and a book on Health Awareness on the occasion.
A PowerPoint presentation was made in which the details of the under construction hospitals, public health centres and sub centres were presented.
