Shab-e-Qadr observed with fervour

SRINAGAR, July 2: Shab-e-Qadr, the night which is considered to be better than praying for 1000 nights, is being observed tonight with religious fervour and reverence as Muslims seek forgiveness of their sins.
This is one of the holiest and most blessed nights when the believers seek Forgiveness of Allah and His Mercy. The night has special significance for the Muslims in which angels descend on the earth with the order of Allah Almighty for the welfare of faithful till dawn.
The faithful offer collective prayers to seek Allah’s forgiveness and divine worship throughout the night till Sehri. Scholars and clerics throw light on the significance of the night.
The largest gatherings of Muslims are at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar and Hazratbal Shrine where thousands of people are praying together throughout the night. Besides, all the mosques and shrines also witnessed large gatherings across the State.
