RAJOURI, Nov 24: A heavy traffic jam was reported today on Bela Road in Rajouri, causing major inconvenience to hundreds of commuters.
Vehicles in long queues remained stranded for an extended period, severely affecting the movement of school buses, office-goers, traders, and residents.
Locals expressed deep concern over the recurring traffic congestion on this vital road link, stating that no authorities were present on the spot to regulate or streamline the traffic. People complained that despite repeated appeals, the issue has not received adequate attention from the concerned departments.
Residents have urged the district administration and traffic police to take immediate measures to manage traffic on Bela Road, deploy personnel during peak hours, and implement permanent solutions to prevent such frequent jams. They stressed that Bela Road is an important route, and neglecting the issue is causing unnecessary hardship to the public.
The citizens appealed for urgent intervention to ensure smooth and safe movement of vehicles and to prevent similar situations in the future.
