Several school going children injured as minibus overturns in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Nov 4: Several school-going children were injured, two of them seriously, when a minibus, they were travelling in, met with an accident at Thandikassi near Ziarat Sharief in Rajouri district.
According to officials, the minibus bearing registration number JK11-8074 was ferrying students to Rajouri when it skidded off the road and overturned near Thandikassi, causing injuries to a large number of children on board.
Immediately after the accident, local residents, police, and rescue teams reached the spot and launched a swift rescue operation. The injured were promptly shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for medical treatment.
The accident site witnessed scenes of chaos and concern as parents and residents gathered, praying for the safety of the children.

Most of the injured children belong to Thandikassi area of Rajouri, and their ages range from 7 to 18 years. The injured included Mobeen Kosser (16), daughter of Mushtaq Haroon , Mohit (14), son of Rakesh Kumar, Rehan Choudhary (07), son of Mohd Javed, Saima Kumar (11), daughter of Aurengzeb Khan, Shazia Anjum (13), daughter of Mohd Iqbal; Sakib (11), son of Mohd Javed , Nazma Kouser (14), daughter of Khaliq Hussain, Shabnum Kosser (15), daughter of Mohd Iqbal, Sarika Jabeen (15), daughter of Mohd Farooq, Shahid Ahmed (17) son of Mohd Iqbal, Sajid Hussain (17), son of Mohd Farooq , Khushi Sharma (14), daughter of Sukhdev, Karan Sharma (14), son of Sukhdev, Aliza (15) daughter of Dil Mohd, Shiraz Ahmed (17), son of Mushtaq Hussain, Sajid Hussain (12), son of Mohd Javed, Rabia Kosser (14), daughter of Mukhtar Hussain, and several others from nearby localities including Kakora and Palolian. The driver of the vehicle was also seriously injured in the mishap.
Two of the injured students, Sakib (11), son of Mohd Javed and Aliza (15) daughter of Dil Mohd were reported to be in critical condition and were airlifted to GMC Jammu for advanced medical treatment. Their condition is being closely monitored by senior doctors.
The Medical Superintendent of GMC Rajouri, Dr Shamim Ahmed Chowdhary, said that special teams of orthopedic surgeons, pediatricians, and trauma specialists were deputed to attend to the injured students.
