Several events planned for World Tourism Day celebration

JAMMU, Sept 25: To announce the grand celebrations planned for World Tourism Day 2025, which falls on September 27, the Directorate of Tourism organized a press conference here today.
Addressing the press conference, Joint Director Tourism, Aijaz Qaiser Malik, briefed the media on the wide range of events, extending an invitation to media representatives, stakeholders, youth, families, content creators, vloggers and travelers to actively participate.
He said, “At Mansar Lake, the celebrations will feature painting and slogan writing competitions, a panel discussion, cultural programs, live performances, an eco-trail/walk and a boat rally. Patnitop will host a plantation drive, cleanliness campaign, eco-friendly walk and a painting competition.”
“In Basohli, a vibrant kite festival will take center stage along with cultural programs, live band performances and painting competitions. Katra will offer visitors a unique heritage walk highlighting the town’s cultural and spiritual character. Meanwhile, Rajouri is set to witness a thrilling 3-day, 2-night trek from Budhal to Smath Sar Lake, adding adventure to the celebrations,” he said.
“These events not only highlight the immense tourism potential of Jammu but also promote awareness about responsible and eco-friendly travel,” Malik said, urging the public to “find the celebration nearest to you, step in and make memories.”
Among others who were present during the conference included Savita Chouhan, Deputy Director Tourism, Vishal, Assistant Director Tourism and Rajesh Raina, AD Tourism Katra/Samba.
