Seventy-five bovines rescued

RAMBAN, Dec 15: In separate cases, 75 bovines were rescued from six vehicles by Ramban Police.
“Acting on the specific inputs regarding transportation of bovine animals, teams of Police Station Ramban and Police Station Batote intercepted six different vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19-4723, JK14H-1272, JK03E-3570, JK03C-9009, JK03D-2710 and one without registration number plate when these vehicles were on their way from Jammu towards Srinagar,” a police spokesman said.
He said on checking, 75 bovine animals were found loaded in these vehicles with utmost cruelty and without any arrangement of food and water. “These bovine animals were being transported to Valley without any valid permission of competent authority,” he said, adding, all the bovines were rescued.
The spokesman said in this connection, 4 cases vide FIR Numbers 409, 410, 411, 412/2022 were registered in Police Station Ramban and two cases vide FIR Numbers 208, 209/2022 registered in Police Station Batote under relevant sections of law and further investigation set into motion.
The rescue operation was made by police parties under the command of Inspector Sandeep Charak (SHO Police Station Ramban) and Inspector Sam Gill under the supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen, Deputy SP HQ Ramban with the overall supervision of SP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
