SAMBA, July 1: Seven vehicles, including five dumpers, were seized for illegal mining in this district today.
A police official said that seizures were made by teams of Police Stations Ghagwal, Bari Brahamana, Purmandal, and Police Posts Mansar and Rakh Amb Talli falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba during routine patrolling duties.
According to him, the seized vehicles were used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material in the district. The vehicles were seized under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
Post seizure, he said, these vehicles were handed over to the Geology and Mining Department for further legal action.
