JAMMU, Oct 4: The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of Panun Kashmir (PK) met under the chairmanship of Virender Raina, chairman, Panun Kashmir here, today. BJP State spokesperson on Kashmir Affairs was specially invited to attend the meeting of the PAC.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, in his address, said that the State with effect from first of November 2019 will enter into a new historical phase that has a lot of hope for the future of the State. Article 370 and Article 35A were the big obstacles which hindered the process of development in the State besides being gender biased and against the women power of the State, he added.
He appreciated the recent statement of Harish Salve, senior lawyer at international level, who endorsed India’s decision to revoke the Article 370. His contention that “PoJK is the only disputed area which otherwise is a part of the Jammu and Kashmir State” goes along with the letter and spirit of parliamentary resolution of 1994.
The resettlement of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community is one of the most important issue that needs to be followed at an appropriate level in due course of time.
The meeting among others was attended by Prof. M.L.Raina, adviser, Upinder Raina, general secretary, Kamal Bagati, general secretary (Org.), Ashok Chrungoo, treasurer, S.K. Bhat, P.K.Durrani, B.L.Garyali and Sameer Bhat, convener, P K Youth. Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo.
Virender Raina while complimenting the inauguration of “Vande Bharat Express” on the occasion of Navratra said it is a welcome development and a well deserved gift to the people of the State. P K appealed to the Government of India to consider on a priority the enhancement of the monthly relief of the relief holders to Rs. 5,000 per person subject to a maximum of an amount of Rs. 20,000 per family. There is also an urgent need to hasten the process of recruitment under PM employment package which is hanging in balance in list over 10 years.
He said the compensation to the over aged youth and the issue of release of half of the amount of compensation in respect of the fire sufferers also should be taken up immediately by the UT administration in concurrence with the Government of India.
P Kdemanded that the Government of India should open a formal dialogue process with the Kashmiri Pandit community representatives for the honourable resettlement of the community in Kashmir as per the geo-political aspirations of the community contained in Margdarshan resolution of 1991.
