Sethi visits SMVD Spiritual Growth Centre

KATRA, Mar 10: Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Information, Education and Culture visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Spiritual Growth Centre (SGC) at Katra today and went around its various sections.
Dr. M.K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, briefed the Minister about the various facilities made available for the pilgrims and visitors at the SGC, apart from efforts made by the Shrine Board in enlarging the facilities for millions of pilgrims visiting the shrine every year.
Mrs. Sethi also visited the Special Handloom Expo-2014-15 titled ‘Magical Weaves’, which is presently underway at the SGC. The Expo has been organised by the Directorate of Handloom Development Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, and sponsored by the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi. She interacted with the stall holders and evinced keen interest in the handloom products put up at the Expo for exhibition-cum-sale.
Manu Hansa, Assistant Director, Handicrafts, Reasi, and officers and staff of the SGC were present on the occasion.
Earlier, this morning, Mrs. Sethi visited the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji and paid obeisance at the Sanctum Sanctorum.
