Sethi visits rain-affected areas to assess damage

JAMMU, Aug 12: To assess the damage caused by recent heavy rains in Jammu East constituency, MLA Yudhvir Sethi today toured rain-hit areas of Ward Numbers 2, 5, 6 and 7 in the Jagti Panchayat.
The MLA was accompanied by Tehsildar Nagrota Sumit Kohli along with PDD officials, BJP Mandal President Bajalta Shiv Sharma, Sarpanch Abha Jamwal, Panch Amita Devi, Lambardar Mohinder Sharma, Retired DySP Mangal Singh, Panch Neelam Singh, Janak Raj and Girdhari Lal.
Speaking on the occasion, Sethi emphasized the need for prompt action and coordination among the departments to address the extensive damage suffered by both public infrastructure and private properties.
He expressed concern over the hardship faced by the local population due to the natural calamity and stressed the importance of timely relief measures and compensation to mitigate the impact.
The MLA said, “The recent rains have caused significant destruction in several parts of Jagti Panchayat. It is imperative that J&K administration take immediate steps to restore normalcy and ensure that those affected receive the necessary support and assistance.”
He also directed the concerned departments to expedite the assessment of damages and ensure that relief and rehabilitation work is carried out in a transparent and efficient manner.
Sethi further assured the residents that their concerns would be addressed promptly.
