JAMMU, June 14: Senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu East Constituency, Yudhvir Sethi, today kickstarted the blacktopping work on the road stretch from Amar Singh Club to Bhagwati Nagar, close to the Amarnath Yatra Base Camp.
A statement said the development work, estimated at Rs 50 lakh, aimed at improving civic infrastructure and providing smoother access to pilgrims and locals.
The launch event was attended by Chief Engineer Rajesh Gupta, Executive Engineer Atul Gupta, and AEE Naveen Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi said the road upgrade was a long-pending demand and will benefit both residents and lakhs of pilgrims visiting the Yatra base camp annually.
He added that the Modi Government was committed to strengthening infrastructure linked with religious tourism and ensuring public convenience.
He said this project reflects the Government’s broader vision of development across Jammu and Kashmir, especially in key pilgrimage zones.
Several BJP leaders including Parmod Kapahi, Raman Sharma, Suresh Salgotra, Rajnath Bhat, Kumar Kant Sharma, Satish Nargotra, Janak Raj Verma, Subash Sharma, Rakesh Mahajan, Sanjay Gupta, Kuldeep Kumar, Prasful Dhar, Anita Sharma, Tek Chand Thakur, Ramesh Saini, and Rajinder Tiku were present on the occasion.
