KARGIL, Aug 8: BJP State General Secretary, Yudhvir Sethi today accompanied the party candidates to the office of Returning Officer for filing nominations for ensuing Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil which will go to polls on August 27. Before filing the nominations, BJP candidates pledged to carry forward programmes and policies of the party to make Kargil a model hilly town.
BJP candidates Shujat Ali, General Secretary of BJP Kargil Unit; Zakir Zakiri, President District BJYM; Mohd Hussain and other members of BJP Thasgam constituency were also present on this occasion.
Earlier, Yudhvir Sethi addressed a rally of youth in Kargil wherein he informed that during previous three years of BJP-PDP rule in Jammu and Kashmir most fair treatment was done to every section of the society by BJP ministers.
“The kind of transparency and accountability that was maintained during these three years ensured that people’s money reached them without pilferage. Benefit of most of the central schemes was extended to Jammu and Kashmir and subsidies were transferred to people’s accounts directly,” he maintained.
Sethi asked youth to join BJP in large numbers and strengthen the hands of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and give country a stable and accountable government.
He said once all-weather road is built connecting Srinagar with Ladakh region maximum issue of people will be addressed and tourism will also pick up.
