JAMMU, Apr 9: A senior scribe associated with a leading national Hindi daily was assaulted by a group of unidentified individuals in Miran Sahib area here, prompting police register an FIR into the incident.
Ajay Meenia, the senior correspondent of Amar Ujala newspaper was heading towards his house in RS Pura on his two-wheeler on the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday when he was stopped at Miran Sahib area by a group of unidentified individuals.
The unidentified men, who were travelling in a Scorpio vehicle, tried to run over the scribe and after assaulting him, they fled the crime scene.
Taking cognisance of the matter, police have registered an FIR number 49/2025 under sections 281 and 125 of the BNS registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and started further investigation into the matter.
