JAMMU, May 23: Shiv Sena J&K unit has urged upon the Government to provide Government jobs along with compensation of Rs. 2 crore each to the families of Rahul Bhatt and Ranjit Singh, who lost their lives in terrorist attacks.
Addressing media persons here today J&K Shiv Sena leader, Manish Sahni termed the killing of Rahul Bhat and Ranjit Singh as cowardly acts of terrorists active in Kashmir and asked the Government to take some effective steps to stop the reign of terror.
He resented that after the killing of Rahul Bhatt, the Government only gave Rs. 5 lakh as compensation to his family and a modest Government job to his wife, while Ranjit Singh’s family would get only Rs 1 lakh and SPO job.
Sahni said that it is almost impossible to compensate for the loss the victim families have suffered but their sufferings can be reduced to some extent by properly compensating them.
He said that the government should also bear all expenses of Rahul Bhatt’s 6 year old daughter till she completes her education.
Shiv Sena general secretary, Vikas Bakshi and chairman, Rakesh Gupta were also present on the occasion.
