Seminar on ‘Exploitation of Women’ held

JAMMU, Feb 19: The World Women Awakening Organisation (WWAO) here today organised a seminar on ‘Exploitation of Women at Home and Workplace’ at MAM College.
The chief guest on this occasion was Priya Sethi, senior BJP leader.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi stressed the need for women safety and encouraged both men and women to come forward if they witness any exploitation against women.
Veena Handa, WWAO vice president delivered the welcome address.
The technical session provided comprehensive guidance on protection and prevention.
Advocate Deepali Sharma delivered a detailed overview of the legal framework surrounding women’s rights. Shashikala emphasized the urgent need for educating the masses to shift societal mindsets.
Shashi Thakur, former DySP enlightened the audience on how victims can seek immediate help and protection from the Police. Other speakers included Prof. Ekta Gupta and Surbhi Kohli.
Prof. D.S Manhas, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University also spoke on the occasion.
Veena Handa presented a memento to the chief guest, Indra Rathore to Prof. D.S Manhas while Sarla Kohli presented memento to the guest of honour, Principal Prof. Archna Koul.
The proceedings were conducted by Sarla Kohli and the event concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. Indira Rathore.
